ANZAC Bliss Balls Recipe

The original Anzac biscuit was known as an ‘Anzac wafer’ or ’tile’ and was part of the rations given to the ANZAC soldiers. They were included instead of bread because they had a much longer shelf life. During the war the soldiers wives, mothers and family members would send their loved ones care packages and ration packs to help sustain them both in both body and in spirit.Β With so many variations on the ANZAC biscuits these days there is so much to choose from. Nuferm Anzac Bliss BallsΒ 

Ingredients:

1 cup of rolled oats
1 cup dedicatedΒ coconut
10 pitted dates
1/2 cup almond butter
2 tbsp milk – almond/oat or coconut
1 tsp vanilla
salt
Your favourite probiotic – to sprinkle

Instructions:

  1. Place the dates, almond butter and vanilla in a food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Add the desiccated coconut, rolled oats, milk and pinch of salt. Process until the mixture begins to come together.
  3. Roll the mixture into small-sized balls and place on a lined baking tray.
  4. Place in the fridge to set.

Remove 15-20 minutes prior to serving, if you like a slightly chewy texture, lightly sprinkle on your favourite probiotic blend. These balls will store in the fridge for up to a week.
