Does caffeine improve my health?
It doesn’t matter if it’s a long black, piccolo or latte the ways coffee can impact on our health can be both positive and negative. Coffee enemas are known to be beneficial for depression and detoxing the liver but is coffee that is consumed also beneficial?

Besides the ‘buzz’ with each cup, lets take a look at what actually goes on when we consume that cup of coffee! Whilst coffee is very addictive, caffeine consumption puts pressure on our adrenal glands so much that will send the adrenals into a state of exhaustion. Caffeine if you hadn’t already noticed is very addictive, for example can you go a day without coffee? This dependency can lead to the irritability, anxiety, insomnia, headaches and heart palpitations.

Warning to coffee lovers!

You may not like the content from here on but if you are interested in a healthier outlook on life read on.

Coffee ‘caffeine’ actually crosses the blood brain barrier and activates our fight or flight senses which diverts our body into an emergency state. This is similar to drug substances that in time takes more and more to achieve the same ‘buzz’ hence, why all of a sudden you notice you need 3 or 4 cups of coffee a day just to get through. Eventually your body cannot work without its hit of caffeine as the dependency grows.

But what else is going on inside us when we consume coffee? Many of our customers suggest that coffee is a trigger for many of their digestive symptoms and discomforts.

THE SUDDEN URGE TO USE THE LOO:
Caffeine in coffee can activate our colon and encourage the intestinal muscles to contract therefore many people end up needing to go to the loo for a number 2 shortly after their morning brew. In fact many people rely on this to get the bowels moving, if this is the case what is your gut and bowel trying to tell you? It is telling us it needs support in other forms that don’t involve a cup of coffee to get things moving.

Coffee is a trigger for many gut sensitivities

Coffee is acidic and stimulates our stomach acidity which in turn can irritate any underlying health conditions like IBS, bloating, gas, heartburn and acid reflux.

Can’t live without coffee?

Even though there are many studies out there that indicate that coffee has beneficial features such as antioxidants and polyphenols, one can also get those same benefits in other ways especially from food without the effects of caffeine. If you are someone already suffering from gut issues then we suggest that coffee should be the last thing you reach for, for the time being.

But like many of us who enjoy the taste of coffee and the social life attached to it we have a great alternative for you!

We are NOT talking about Decaf because decaf uses chemicals to remove the caffeine.

We are talking about ‘FREE CAFF’ which is a process of removing the caffeine without toxic chemicals.
